Over 100 thousand people made long-distance and international trips from Moscow bus stations during the May holidays. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

The most popular destinations were Donskoy, Kirzhach, Rybinsk, Voronezh and Cheboksary. The Central Bus Station has become the leader in the number of passengers transported, with more than 32,000 people departing from here from May 1 to 11.

"Buses remain one of the most affordable and convenient ways to travel. The capital's transport complex is doing everything possible to provide passengers with comfortable and safe trips to other cities and countries," Liksutov stressed.

He noted that the May holidays traditionally marked the peak of passenger traffic, when residents and guests of the capital traveled en masse to other regions of the country, and a significant number of tourists came to Moscow. Nevertheless, the bus stations of the capital coped with the high load, demonstrating a high level of service.

There are five modern bus stations in Moscow: Krasnogvardeysky, Tsentralny, Salarievo, Severnye Vorota and Yuzhny Vorota. Since 2021, Moscow's bus stations have been under the control of the Moscow Metro, which has improved comfort and safety for passengers on inter-regional buses. On average, about 9 thousand passengers use the capital's bus stations every day.

The capital's bus stations play a key role in providing transport links between Moscow and other regions of Russia, as well as neighboring countries, and contribute to increasing the tourist flow.
