Trump announced his readiness to meet with Putin

A busy schedule will not be an obstacle to a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin "to save lives." This was announced on May 14 by the American leader Donald Trump.
"Tomorrow (May 15th. — Ed.) we have everything planned, you know. But this does not mean that I would not go — if it saves lives, I will go," he told reporters aboard the presidential plane. The broadcast was hosted by the White House press service.
Trump added that the Russian leader had expressed a desire for the US president to be present at the talks with Ukraine.
During a press conference on May 11, Putin announced that Russia was offering Ukraine to resume direct talks in Istanbul on May 15. At the same time, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the Kremlin would announce who would participate in the Istanbul talks.
