The 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions includes 189 tankers that allegedly transport Russian oil under the flags of various states. This was announced on May 14 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.

"We have added 189 more ships to the list in order to hit Russian energy exports," she wrote on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Thus, blacklisted tankers will be banned from entering EU ports. European businesses will be banned from any transactions with these vessels.

The approval by the ambassadors of the EU countries of a new 17th package of sanctions against was reported earlier that day. At the same time, it was reported that the ambassadors from Hungary and Slovakia supported the new 17th package of sanctions due to its relative weakness.
