- On May 23, the Moscow Museum will host a discussion within the framework of the international Intermuseum Festival
On May 23, the Museum of Moscow will host the discussion "Hub of Education of the Future" as part of the international Intermuseum Festival. Can museums become centers of interdisciplinary learning?" The Polytechnic Museum will share its experience.
In modern museums, primarily scientific and technical ones, visitors do not just look at the exhibits and listen to guides, but participate in experiments, experiments, master classes, and quizzes. The museums host lectures and meetings with scientists, scientific discussions, and seminars. Thus, they act as additional training centers. And, according to experts, this function of museums is becoming more noticeable.
The public discussion "Hub of the education of the future. Can museums become centers of interdisciplinary learning", which will be held on May 23 at the Museum of Moscow as part of the international Intermuseum Festival.
The panelists will discuss the interaction of museums with educational institutions, joint interdisciplinary projects and programs.
Ekaterina Glushenkova, Deputy General Director of the Polytechnic Museum for Scientific and Educational Activities, will take part in the discussion.
Dmitry Aleksandrovich Kozhanov, General Director of the Polytechnic Museum: "Let me remind you that the first name of the Polytechnic Museum is the Museum of Applied Knowledge, and throughout its history — for more than 150 years — we have been embodying the principle of Professor Grigory Shchurovsky: "Knowledge from the scientist's office should reach the masses of the people and become their intellectual heritage." In the early years of the museum's existence, Sunday explanations of collections were practiced, and it was in our museum that a large audience appeared, where leading scientists gave lectures. And our visitors did not just look at the exhibits, but studied the device of new technology. And today, educational projects occupy an important place in our activities. These include an online lecture hall at the Polytechnic Museum, a dialogue with scientists, clubs, contests, quizzes, and other educational programs and projects for schoolchildren and teachers. We are pleased to share our experience with the participants of the largest and most significant Intermuseum forum for museum workers, learn something new from our colleagues and together create an image of the museum of the future as an integral part of the education system."
