The proliferation of nuclear weapons in Europe will not increase the level of security on the continent. This was announced at a briefing on May 14 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on statements by French President Emmanuel Macron about the use of nuclear weapons to protect the European Union (EU).

"The proliferation of nuclear weapons on the European continent is something that will not add security, predictability and stability to the European continent," Peskov said.
