A female pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of being hit by a motorcyclist on Vernadsky Avenue in Moscow. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate on Wednesday, May 14.
According to preliminary information, the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle ran over a female pedestrian who was crossing the roadway at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a forbidding traffic light at the intersection of Vernadsky Avenue and Kravchenko Street.
"As a result of a road accident, a female pedestrian died on the spot from her injuries," the press service told the Moscow City News agency.
Ambulance and intensive care specialists pronounced the woman dead, clarifies 360.ru .
The capital's traffic police and the investigative task force are investigating all the circumstances of the accident.
Earlier, on May 12, a driver hit two teenagers on Marshal Blucher Avenue in St. Petersburg. They were riding through a pedestrian crossing on the same scooter. The girl was hospitalized in a moderate condition with numerous fractures and bruises.
In March, a Lexus driver hit a pedestrian near the Shchelkovskaya metro station in the northeast of the capital, RT reports. The victim was hospitalized.
