A woman will be tried for the death of a man in a dog attack on Sakhalin
A criminal case against a dog owner has been brought to court in the Sakhalin Region. A man died in an animal attack.
The incident occurred in February 2025 in the village of Zhdydaevo, Kholmsky district. According to SakhalinMedia news agency, the 64-year-old defendant kept two potentially dangerous dogs in an open area. The pets attacked the victim and caused numerous injuries. The dog owner moved the victim to her home and examined her, but she did not call an ambulance, creating a dangerous situation.
The criminal case was initiated under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence") and Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Knowingly leaving a person in a life-threatening condition without assistance"). The materials were submitted to the court. The dog owner faces up to two years in prison.
In the Moscow region, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the attack by Alabai on a six-year-old child in Shatura. A dog jumped out from under the fence of a private house and attacked a boy who was riding by on a bicycle. The animal was driven away by eyewitnesses.
