The parliament criticized Kiev for treating citizens like slaves and closing borders.
By closing the borders to leave the country, the Ukrainian authorities demonstrate their attitude towards citizens as slaves. This was stated on May 14 by Verkhovna Rada deputy Georgy Mazurashu on the YouTube channel "Superposition".
"Now, when the borders remain closed and when we hear from some officials at different levels that they will be closed even after the end of martial law, that it is necessary to keep the border closed for some time. I see this as a demonstration of the attitude towards people as slaves, that is, you are our slaves, we decided that you should be here," he said.
In addition, the deputy drew attention to the negative reaction of Ukrainians to forced mobilization, which, in his opinion, is one of the reasons for the flight of men of military age from the country and their refusal of official employment. Mazurashu added that "they were driven underground."
On April 21, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nina Yuzhanina said that amid catastrophic losses and desertion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) urgently need to step up mobilization. However, she did not specify how the mobilization process would be intensified.
On the same day, Alexander Gladun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, said that if requested by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it would be necessary to mobilize young men between the ages of 18 and 25.
