A powerful flare occurred on the Sun
An outburst of the penultimate power class M occurred on the Sun. This was reported on May 14 on the website of the Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics.
"On May 14, an M5.3 flash lasting 37 minutes was recorded in the X—ray range in the 4087 (N17E68) spot group," the report says.
The Institute noted that a powerful outbreak was recorded on Wednesday at 06:25 Moscow time.
In addition, they also clarified that high solar flare activity was recorded on May 14, and moderate on May 15. According to their data, Class X outbreaks are possible.
The day before, it became known that the first flare of maximum power class X occurred in the Sun in a month and a half. It was noted that the flare occurred at the western edge of the Sun, so it does not pose a global threat to the Earth.
