The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the continuation of negotiations with the United States on the nuclear dossier

Iran and the United States have agreed to continue discussions on the nuclear issue and are currently agreeing on a time and place for the next round of talks. This was announced on May 14 by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Bagai.

"The very fact of the negotiations and the confirmation by both sides of their intention to continue them indicate that the negotiation process will continue," Entekhab quoted him as saying.

Bagai said that the Omani Foreign Ministry, acting as the mediator and coordinator of this dialogue, in cooperation with them and the American side, will announce the date and place of the next round. According to him, consultations are currently underway to determine the most appropriate moment for both sides.

In addition, the diplomat stressed that Iran has the right to be cautious and distrustful due to past violations of US obligations and inconsistencies between their words and actions.

On May 11, Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian said that the country's complete abandonment of its nuclear program was impossible. In addition, he noted that it is planned to further develop Iran's peaceful nuclear industry and seek common ground during the negotiations, which are necessary, among other things, to show Tehran's desire for peace, not conflict.

On the same day, the fourth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States on the nuclear program ended in Oman. The Islamic Republic was represented by a delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, while the American Republic was represented by US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff. On April 12, the first round of talks took place in Oman, the second on April 19 in Rome, and the third round again in Oman on April 26.
