The Interior Ministry explained the rules of registration when moving within the region

When a person moves to another locality on the territory of the same entity where he is registered, then registration at the new address is not required. This was reported on May 13 in the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"If a citizen plans to move to a settlement located on the territory of the same Russian subject in which he is already registered, he has the right not to register at a new address," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to the Interior Ministry, if a citizen who has a residence registration in one region leaves for another and stays there for more than 90 days, then he needs to issue a temporary registration.

It is clarified that the law does not prohibit registering a residence permit at the place of a new apartment in which a person does not plan to live in the future. But if a citizen is going to live in a newly acquired apartment, then he is obliged to register in it.
