A resident of Kuzbass was arrested for calling for a terrorist attack on Victory Day

In the Kemerovo region, a resident of Kiselevsk was detained for calling for terrorist activities during celebrations dedicated to the celebration of May 9. This was announced on Wednesday, May 14, by the Main directorate (GU) of the Investigative Department (SU) of Kuzbass.

"On May 3, 2025, a person involved in the use of the Internet information and telecommunications network posted a public comment in one of the messengers containing calls for terrorist activities during events dedicated to the celebration of May 9," the agency said in a publication on Teleram.

The man is accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities using the Internet").

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused, the regional Investigative Committee clarified.

The collection of evidence is currently ongoing.

Earlier, on May 6, it was reported that the court sentenced a resident of the Kherson region to 5.5 years in prison for publicly justifying terrorism. A person involved in the Telegram messenger posted comments that justified the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall shopping center in March 2024.
