Directors from Yakutia will present their projects at the Cannes film market
The 78th International Film Festival opened in Cannes. Izvestia visited the event and talked with Yakut film directors Dmitry Davydov and Stepan Burnashev, who were present there.
Both directors are laureates of major domestic festivals and awards, and at the same time they are very successful at the Yakut box office. They came to the Croisette (Davydov had to travel for three days) not to watch movies, but to look for partners for their own projects: in parallel with the festival, the world's largest film market is taking place here, Davydov and Burnashev are official participants. Davydov brought the Lullaby project.
"This is a Yakut drama. I want to find foreign partners for it in order to conduct this project more competently. Not to make a small Yakut movie, but to work it out more widely," he shared.
Davydov also said that he has several ideas for films that he could make even in Europe, including in English.
Burnashev said that he has a finished film, which he will offer to distributors and sales agencies.
"This is the Penthouse I rented in Malaysia. This is an international project that I will try to find buyers for. And I will meet with different producers for my future ideas," the director noted.
