At the beginning of the special Military operation (SVO), the Faculty of Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University developed a professional development program for psychologists. It was called "Psychological support for combat stress disorders and post-traumatic stress disorders," Yuri Zinchenko, dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Lomonosov Moscow State University, told Izvestia in an interview.

"The program is led by leading specialists in the field of clinical psychology, military psychiatry and crisis psychology. The teachers work directly with the participants and veterans of the SVO, as well as their family members. More than 600 specialists have already been trained in it," he stressed.

According to him, special attention is paid to living through grief, experiencing loss and the consequences of combat stress.

"Also, now the Russian Psychological Society, together with Moscow State University, is launching an educational program "Mentor of the group of socio-psychological support for combat participants" for veterans of the SVO," Zinchenko added.

According to him, this program is focused on the training of psychologists for the participants of the SVO, so that they gain the skill of providing support to the returned and their family members.
