Macron stated that Kiev understands the impossibility of returning territories

Ukrainians realize that a return to the borders of 2014 is impossible. This was announced on Tuesday, May 13, by French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Even the Ukrainians themselves understand quite clearly that they will not be able to regain everything that has been lost since 2014," he said in an interview with TF1 TV channel.

At the same time, the French leader noted that negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine would contribute to resolving territorial issues.

"It is in the interests of the European Union to lift sanctions as soon as possible"

Earlier, on May 2, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Ukraine would not be able to return to the borders of 2014. He emphasized that this situation should be taken as a fact.
