A gala concert by a choir of children of diplomats from 17 countries took place on May 13 at the President Hotel in Moscow. The artistic director of the collective is Ilya Reznik, People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the event.

"It is important that children, through their creativity, bring closer the moment when we will say again that all people are brothers, and that we have a bright road ahead of us," the diplomat noted.

At the concert, the children performed such popular Soviet and Russian songs as "Little Country", "Beautiful Far Away", "Katyusha" and "Victory Day".

Reznik, in turn, congratulated the audience on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

Earlier, on May 10, a concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in Moscow's Zaryadye Park. Sergei Garmash, a Soviet and Russian actor of theater, cinema and television, who participated in the event, noted in an interview with journalists that such holidays should be celebrated "inside oneself", since they "can be felt everywhere." According to him, a person feels Victory Day, despite the date on the calendar and press reports.
