Poland is not going to send its military personnel to the territory of Ukraine as part of a possible post-war settlement. This was stated on May 13 by Polish Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh in an interview with RMF FM radio station.

This is how the head of the department reacted to the statement by the special envoy of the President of the United States, Keith Kellogg, who earlier spoke about the possible deployment of European forces west of the Dnieper River with the participation of four countries, including Poland.

"Poland has no plans and will not send Polish soldiers to Ukraine," Kosinyak-Kamysh stressed.

According to the minister, Warsaw considers its participation in the post-war process differently. He noted that Poland sees its role in maintaining the logistics center, providing infrastructure and protecting the eastern flank of NATO. This position has been agreed with the coalition led by Great Britain and France.

Kosinyak-Kamysh admitted that Kellogg's statement could have been aimed at emphasizing the importance of the Polish army in deploying forces aimed at ensuring the stability of Ukraine.

Kellogg said on that day that the United States was discussing the possibility of deploying forces from Britain, France, Germany and Poland west of the Dnieper River as part of the Ukrainian settlement. According to the envoy, such a deployment of the contingent means that it will be located outside the zone of military contact in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 24 that the deployment of Western military contingents in Ukraine was unacceptable to Russia. He also noted that this initiative poses a critical threat to the security of the whole of Europe.
