On May 13, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation declared undesirable the activities of the American non-governmental organization (NGO) International Indigenous Fund for Development and Solidarity Batani in the country.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the organization was established in 2018. The main goal was to protect the rights of indigenous peoples, integrate them into the global community, and promote traditional values.

"The actual activities of its participants are aimed at supporting and preparing for anti—Russian demonstrations at international events, including those held under the auspices of the United Nations," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

The Prosecutor General's Office added that the NGO's website regularly publishes materials about alleged violations of the freedom of small ethnic groups in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on March 25, the Prosecutor General's Office declared undesirable in Russia the activities of the NATO-funded international NGO The European Leadership Network. On its resources, this organization publishes materials in which those who disagree with the Western agenda of the country are declared as "aggressors."
