UAZ "Profi" turned into a motorhome for traveling

A new motorhome based on the commercial UAZ Profi may appear on the Russian market. This was reported to Izvestia on May 14 by a source in the Nizhny Novgorod company Universal NN, a partner of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.

A source in the company provided Izvestia with several renderings of a potential novelty with various layout options for an alcove berth.

"The idea of an aesthetically pleasing car with a large luggage compartment, spacious interior and all-wheel drive, designed for autonomous travel, has been maturing in our company for quite some time. But we have to take into account the specificity of this type of vehicle, so the concept and configuration of the motorhome are still only at the stage of development," the source said.

According to him, Universal NN specialists are currently analyzing the market potential and assessing the prospects before the possible launch of such a UAZ into small-scale production.

On April 23, Izvestia reported on the development of an outdoor walking version of the UAZ Tourist. A minibus based on the four-wheel drive UAZ Profi was also developed by Universal NN.
