In Mexico, a candidate for mayor was killed at a rally


Yesenia Lara Gutierrez, a candidate for mayor of Texistepec in the Mexican state of Veracruz, was killed during an election rally. This was reported on May 12 by CNN.
"Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the attack during her Monday morning press conference and said she did not yet have information about the motives," the publication said.
It is specified that three people were killed along with Gutierrez as a result of the shooting, and three more were injured. According to the TV channel, the moment of the attack was captured on the footage of the broadcast, which was conducted on the politician's social networks.
Gutierrez ran for the ruling National Renaissance Movement party. The municipal elections in the city are scheduled to take place on June 1.
Earlier, on April 7, Formula radio station reported that bandits had shot people at a rehabilitation center in the municipality of Ocosocoautla in the Mexican state of Chiapas. As a result of the incident, two police officers were killed.
