- Patrushev called the project of disposal of the sunken dock in the Murmansk region special for the Russian Federation.

The project of recycling a sunken floating dock in the Murmansk region is unprecedented for Russia. This was announced on May 13 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev during a working trip to the region.
During the visit, he examined the site of the dock flooding and held a meeting on the organization of work on its disposal. The meeting was attended by the head of the Murmansk Region, the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Rosmorrechflot and other interested departments.
"The situation with the sunken dock in the Murmansk region creates a number of problems. This is both a serious obstacle to navigation and a negative impact on the environment," Patrushev said.
He noted the strategic importance of the water area for the development of the Northern Sea Route.
"A project for the disposal of this floating dock is currently being created, and then we will start work. The project will be large-scale and even unique, as similar-sized sunken objects in our country have not yet had to be disposed of. Nevertheless, we understand how to do it. We have design institutes that are ready to get down to work and then remove this facility," Patrushev said.
He called for speeding up the work due to the fact that the season favorable for the survey will be short due to the climate of the Murmansk region. In addition, following the meeting, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Transport and Rosmorrechflot, together with the country's regions, to promptly develop and approve a roadmap for organizing the recycling process.
On April 9, Patrushev noted the strategic importance of the Siberian Federal District (SFD) for strengthening Russia's industrial potential. According to him, the Siberian Federal District has huge reserves of natural resources, including precious metals, copper, nickel, coal, oil, and gas. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation clarified that the district also has the largest hydropower facilities in the country.
