The head coach of the Russian national freestyle wrestling team was suspended on charges of doping

The head coach of the Russian national freestyle wrestling team, 2004 Olympic champion Khadzhimurat Gatsalov was suspended on charges of violating anti-doping rules. This was announced on May 13 by the International Doping Testing Agency (ITA).

"Sanction: temporary suspension (from May 5, 2025)," the table on the agency's website says.

The date of violation of the rules is May 10. It is indicated that measures have been introduced for the use of prohibited substances.

Earlier, on April 23, Anatoly Golyshev, the captain of the Avtomobilist hockey club, was temporarily suspended from the games due to the result of a doping test. The team said it expects a full clarification of all the circumstances of the case by the anti-doping authorities.
