Russia will cope with the new sanctions that Western countries are threatening to impose. This was announced by Alexey Repik, Chairman of Delovaya Rossiya, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 13.

Repik expressed confidence that the economic contour of the country's security will be reliably protected, despite any pressure.

"Well-known comrades will again plot their machinations, intimidate us with the introduction of one hundred and five hundredth packages of sanctions and scare us with apocalypses. Here you can immediately say — it won't work. We did it in 2022, and we can do it now," said the head of Delovaya Rossiya.

On May 10, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on Russia to negotiate a full 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine. At the same time, the French leader allowed the introduction of new sanctions in the event of Russia's refusal from Kiev's terms of the truce.

In turn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that intimidating Russia with sanctions was "an empty matter." He noted that the country has already become accustomed to sanctions and knows how to mitigate their consequences.
