The manager of a cafe in Lodeynoye Pole in the Leningrad region was detained due to the death of a three-year-old girl after visiting the institution. This was reported on May 13 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region.
"Investigators are currently interrogating the suspect. He will be charged in the near future. The investigation has filed a petition to the court for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention," the department's Telegram channel clarifies.
The detainee is suspected of committing a crime under clauses "b, c" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services intended for children under the age of six who do not meet safety requirements and negligently cause death of a person").
Investigators continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Documents have been seized in the cafe and examinations are being carried out, the activity of the institution has been suspended.
During the inspection, the Prosecutor's office of the Leningrad region revealed numerous violations in the cafe of Lodeynoye Pole, after visiting which a three-year-old girl died. It is specified that the catering establishment did not comply with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological legislation.
Earlier that day, it was reported that a three-year-old girl died after visiting a cafe in Lodeynoye Pole. She died in hospital from cardiac arrest. According to the child's mother Daria, the medical examiner has not yet proved the poisoning in the cafe, the death could have been an accident.
