A court in Moscow fined Discord Inc. 800 thousand rubles for failing to fulfill its duties as an organizer of the instant messaging service. This was reported on May 13 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"By the decision of the justice of the peace of the judicial district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow, Discord Inc. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense," the press service said in a Telegram channel.

It is clarified that the company was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 13.39 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to perform duties as an organizer of an instant messaging service").

On February 5, the World judicial district of the Tagansky district of Moscow fined the Discord video call server 2 million rubles for refusing to localize personal data of Russians. It was clarified that neither Roskomnadzor nor representatives of Discord attended the meeting.

On March 12, 2024, Roskomnadzor notified the owners of the Discord service about its inclusion in the Russian register of social networks. The owners of this site, according to the requirements of the law "On Self-control of Social Networks" dated February 2021, must independently identify and block content prohibited in the Russian Federation.
