In the town of Tsiolkovsky in the Amur region, a forest caught fire near residential buildings amid massive forest fires in the region. Footage from the scene of the May 13 events is published by Izvestia.

The footage shows plentiful smoke from the burning of trees. Fire services and extinguishing equipment are also working at the scene.

Earlier that day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that the total area of fires in the Amur region amounted to more than 3 thousand hectares in the period from 11 to 12 May. It is noted that over the past day, fire and rescue units of the region went out to extinguish fires of dry vegetation about 45 times.
