The French politician called for the country's withdrawal from the EU

On May 13, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, sharply criticized the initiative to create a European agency to combat disinformation, calling for France's withdrawal from the European Union (EU) following the example of the United Kingdom.

According to the politician, the MEPs are in a panic because they no longer control the course of events, including the situation in Ukraine. The leader of the Patriots called for preventing increased censorship in the EU.

"This system must be completely destroyed through Frexit (France's withdrawal from the European Union. — Ed.) and the death of the EU! Freedom!" wrote Filippo on the social network X (ex. Twitter) .

"We suggest that the Kiev authorities resume negotiations"

Vladimir Putin announced Russia's readiness to start a direct dialogue with Ukraine on May 15.

Earlier, on May 11, Philippot called Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to resume direct talks with Ukraine a blow to the "instigators" of the conflict in Europe. Philippot noted that there is a whole camp of representatives of the European Union, who, according to him, seek to aggravate the situation, maintain tension in relations with Russia, and reject the emerging dynamics aimed at establishing peace.
