UAZ announced the use of polyurea at the plant
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has started implementing large-scale projects to modernize the site and equipment, including the installation of a new section for applying polyurea. Representatives of the company informed Izvestia about this on May 13.
Thus, in the pressing industry, the installation of a laser cutting system for parts on UAZ Pickup and UAZ Profi with a double cabin is being completed. A new section for applying polyurea is being installed in the paint industry — this material is designed to protect the cargo compartments of cars from internal influences during transportation.
In addition, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced that it is preparing to launch a project to weld local components for Sollers pickups. In April, the company started upgrading its production facilities. The transition to the new equipment is scheduled for October 2025.
On May 6, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced that work was underway to modernize production and repair the campaign. So, the Hunter welding site is being organized at the enterprise, and reconstruction and arrangement of a warehouse for new models are planned in the repair and foundry shop. In May, it is planned to renovate more than 1 thousand square meters of the roof. Renovation work will continue on the floors on the main conveyor.
On April 17, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced the modernization of the rear-view camera for the Patriot and Pickup models. The new device complements the advanced UAZ Navi multimedia system. The improvements did not affect the cost of models with the Limited package.
