In Ukraine, the headmaster was fired for communicating in Russian

The headmaster of a school in the Kiev region of Ukraine was fired for using the Russian language while communicating with schoolchildren, teachers and parents. This was announced on May 13 by Ukrainska Pravda.
It is clarified that the complaint against the head was filed by the parents of the school's students.
"She does not respond to numerous comments about the need to use the official language, arguing that it is so convenient for her to communicate," the publication quoted the words of the Educational Ombudsman of Ukraine, Nadezhda Leshchik.
On May 3, it was reported that new checks on the use of the state language are being conducted in Ukrainian schools from April 28. As noted by the Language Ombudsman of Ukraine Taras Kremen, the educational process includes all types of activities taking place on the territory of the educational institution, therefore, the Ukrainian language should be used not only in lessons.
At the end of April 2019, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law "On Ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language." The document implies the use of only the Ukrainian language by public authorities and local governments, educational institutions, hospitals, as well as in the service sector.
