Forest fire threatens a village in Transbaikalia

The village of Yablonevo in the Chita district of Transbaikalia is threatened by a forest fire. He works in the Beklemishevsky district forestry.

According to ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the Telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, Zabaikalleskhoz is strengthening the forest fire group and increasing the number of vehicles. A bulldozer was sent to the site to create a mine strip. Firefighters are being deployed to the area.

So far, 11 people and two pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.

Earlier, on May 13, it was reported that a new forest fire was breaking out near Chita in the Dobrotny microdistrict of the Smolenka rural settlement. The volunteers are asking for help.

Earlier, on May 12, it was reported that 10 people were rescued from Zabaikalets and the Malinovka dacha cooperative, which were threatened by fires in the Trans-Baikal Territory. 22 rural cooperatives, nine settlements and four economic facilities, including two children's camps, are protected from fire.

On May 11, Roscosmos published a satellite image of fires in Transbaikalia. The image shows areas of active gorenje, as well as extensive burning areas near Chita. In addition, smoke plumes and cloud formations caused by fires are clearly visible in the image.

On the same day, the head of the third fire and rescue squad of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Yuri Malyukov, told Izvestia that a forest fire with an area of 1 thousand hectares was operating near the Smolenskoye rural settlement in the Chita region of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
