Shanghai investors to build two MSW processing plants in Primorye

In Primorye, the Kanghen company from Shanghai plans to build two MSW processing plants. This will be the first experience of foreign investors participating in this industry in the region. So far, KGUP Primorsky Ecological Operator remains the leader in this market, PrimaMedia news agency notes.
The details of the new project were discussed at a meeting of representatives of the regional government with the Chinese delegation. It is known that the sites for such plants will be in Vladivostok and Ussuriysk.
The capacity of the Vladivostok plant will be at least 300 thousand tons of waste per year. They plan to recycle garbage not only from the regional center, but also from the nearest municipalities.
According to Vladimir Malyushitsky, deputy head of the regional government, the delegation from Primorye got acquainted with the experience of companies working in this field during a trip to China. Now it is necessary to choose a production that meets environmental requirements. The new plants will help minimize waste disposal and get rid of landfills.
In turn, Gao Haijing, Deputy General Director of the Kanghen Investment Company, noted that his company has sufficient experience and already implemented projects.
The agency notes that for the first time since 2018, the Russian government has increased the rate of payment for the negative impact on the environment when placing low-risk MSW. It will be indexed to 4.2% inflation. The cost of 1 ton of MSW will be 99 rubles.
Earlier it was reported about plans to build 17 new recycling facilities with a total capacity of more than 795 thousand tons of municipal solid waste per year as part of 11 integrated waste recycling facilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR, LPR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
