Actress Shirokova refused to be hospitalized before her death


Olga Shirokova, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, theater and film actress, who died at the age of 80, refused to be hospitalized shortly before her death. As a source told Izvestia on May 13, her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease worsened.
"On May 9, her husband called an ambulance, she was slowed down, the doctors arrived, examined her," he explained.
According to the source, on May 12, Shirokova was called for an ambulance again, but she did not go to the hospital. The actress died on the same day at about five o'clock in the evening.
Olga Shirokova's death became known earlier that day. She was a laureate of the Moscow City Hall Award, and since 1995 she has been a leading actress at the Moscow Theater Center Cherry Orchard. Among the best roles of the actress were Amanda in "The Glass Menagerie", Edda in "Butterfly Tango", Lydia Gerber in "Old-fashioned Comedy" and others.
