The reconstruction of the heating main began in the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg. The work will be carried out by specialists of TEK SPb, the press service of the city Committee on Energy and Engineering Support reported on Tuesday, May 13.

Utilities will have to upgrade more than 2.5 thousand meters of heating networks with a diameter of 50-600 mm along Yesenin Street from Lunacharsky Avenue to Siqueiros Street with the commissioning of 32 Shuvalovo — Ozerki block.

The outdated heating main will be replaced with modern pipelines in polyurethane foam insulation. They are equipped with an operational remote control system, which signals that the insulation layer is wet and prevents the development of defects in the early stages.

According to the 78 TV channel, the reconstruction will increase the reliability of heat supply to 50 buildings. It is planned to complete the work by the end of 2026. At the time of the repair, the townspeople will be provided with hot water supply via a temporary heating network: more than 1.2 thousand meters of pipes have already been installed.

Earlier in May, it was reported that a planned shutdown of hot water was beginning in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The schedule of preventive maintenance has already been approved.
