More than 110 people have died as a result of flooding in South Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The portal informed about this on May 12. Actualite.co .

"This morning, on May 12, 2025, the message <...> says that 114 people were killed, including 19 women, 56 men and 49 children, and more than 150 houses were destroyed," the publication says.

It is specified that the flood occurred on the night of May 9 due to overflowing river waters. Initially, 61 people were reported dead as a result of the incident. At the moment, rescuers are continuing to search for bodies.

Earlier, on May 10, it was reported that 12 people were killed due to the effects of heavy rains that hit Somalia last night. According to Garowe, residents continued to search for the 11-year-old boy.
