The mystical drama "The White Steamboat" is released on June 19.

Inga Shepeleva's mystical drama "The White Steamboat" is released on June 19. The film is the first carbon-neutral Russian film and tells the love story of a Yakut choirmaster teacher and a visiting music school director assigned from Moscow.
The film is the directorial debut of Shepeleva and reveals the problems of finding the true path, differences and the need to reassemble the idea of the relationship between different peoples with different cultural, mythological and historical experiences.
Filming took place in Yakutsk and its suburbs. It was attended by professional and non-professional actors, as well as music workers, teachers and students of music schools in Yakutsk.
"The White Steamboat" is the first Russian film with a fully compensated carbon footprint. So, during the filming, the team used reusable dishes, sorted the garbage, and chose more environmentally friendly materials. As a final step, the film team organizes the planting of trees.
"As a director and screenwriter, I am waiting with trepidation for the release date of the film "The White Steamboat". We made this film with great love, we were not afraid of the new film language, we experimented with convention. I really hope that every viewer will find something different in this film: someone - a love story, someone - a production drama, someone — a mystical epic, and someone - an absurd comedy of characters," shared Shepeleva.
The film was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Kinoprime Foundation. The distributor of the "White Steamboat" is the K24 film distribution company.
On May 7, the joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was the first Russian film to receive the "Dragon Seal" for unlimited distribution in China. It was clarified that the beginning of the screenings of the joint Russian-Chinese project in the republic is planned in September during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Alexander Makushin, an expert at the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO), called the screening of the film on the anniversary of the country's victory over militaristic Japan a deeply symbolic sign.
