A family gastronomic festival "Dumpling Day" was held in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Territory. It was held on the Theater Square of the city.
The event gathered 10 thousand participants. The program was filled with sports and entertainment activities, which were attended by family teams and young people. Master classes, a fair of arts and crafts, performances by local KVN teams and creative teams were prepared for the guests.
The food festival offered dumplings prepared by catering organizations and manufacturers of finished products of the city. During the day of the festival, 1,280 portions of dumplings, 0.5 tons of frozen semi-finished products were sold, and 0.5 tons of broth were brewed.
Catering companies and manufacturers participated in the competition for the best dumplings. They were evaluated by an international jury. It includes representatives of the People's Republic of China — employees of the Confucius Institute at the Amur Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, IA AmurMedia writes.
The festival was held with the support of the regional Ministry of Tourism. It corresponded to the goals of the national project "Family", developed on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, Russians named the most popular cheats. Among the "harmful" foods, sweets are in the leaders among Russians: chocolates, cakes and ice cream (35%). This follows from the results of a study by the federal network of fitness clubs DDX Fitness. Fast food burgers and French fries took the second place (20.5%). Asian cuisine closes the top three in popularity — rolls and woks (16%). Pizza attracts only 11% of respondents, while homemade fried potatoes and dumplings attract 10%.
