In the Leningrad region, a case was opened into the death of a child after visiting a cafe

A criminal case has been opened in Lodeynoye Pole, Leningrad Region, over the death of a three-year-old child after visiting a cafe. This was reported on May 13 in the press service of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "b, c" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services intended for children under the age of six who do not meet safety requirements and negligently cause death of a person")," the Telegram channel says.

Previously, on May 9, unidentified persons among the staff of the institution provided services that did not meet the requirements of life and health safety. As a result, the girl was poisoned, she died in the hospital. An investigative task force led by the head of the investigative department, as well as with the participation of an investigator, Rospotrebnadzor staff, a forensic medical expert and police officers was sent to the cafe.

The institution's activities are currently suspended. The circumstances of the incident are being established, and forensic examinations have been appointed to determine the causes of the child's death.

The mother of the deceased girl, Daria, in turn, told Izvestia that the medical examiner had not yet proved the poisoning in the cafe. According to her, the child's death could have been an accident. She clarified that accurate information will appear after the funeral, scheduled for May 14.

According to her, the girl was in the cafe with her father, they ordered a portion of French fries. The child felt unwell within an hour, her health worsened by 22:00. According to Daria, she called an ambulance around 01:00, but refused to be hospitalized because there is another young child in the family. She called the ambulance again 12 hours later, on May 10. The girl was taken to the hospital, where she died of cardiac arrest.

On April 2, a five-year-old girl was taken to a hospital in Moscow after being bullied by insects in an entrance hall. According to the Izvestia source, the girl's sister was also injured, she was taken to the hospital with suspected acute intoxication.
