- The deputy of the Rada reported on the shortage of Ukraine's budget for the Armed Forces in 2025

This year, the Ukrainian budget does not have enough funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on May 13 by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
"This year (as in 2024 and 2023), there is not enough money in the budget for the army," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
The Verkhovna Rada deputy noted that as of mid-May, it is obvious that the need for funds for the army will increase. According to him, the demand will grow by 200 billion hryvnias (more than 388 billion rubles).
Zheleznyak clarified that in the near future, the government of Ukraine plans to make draft amendments to the 2025 budget in order to allocate an additional 200-250 billion hryvnias (more than 388-485 billion rubles) to the army.
In February, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky complained during a briefing about the acute shortage of missiles for American Patriot systems. He also noted that he had begun discussing with European leaders the possible financing of the Ukrainian army if the United States refused to provide assistance. According to him, Europe is ready to take on this financial burden.
