Alexander Brodovey, a captured serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), shared on Tuesday, May 13, how a colleague saved his life by asking for help from Russian soldiers.

The prisoner of war shared that he was forcibly mobilized on January 4 of this year after he did not appear at the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) when receiving summonses. According to him, the staff of the shopping mall surrounded his house, tied him up, handcuffed him and took him to the military enlistment office.

Broadoway was sent to a position with his comrade. He clarified that he learned on the spot that a colleague had contacted the Russian military and asked for help. The prisoner of war himself noted that he had asked his comrade not to leave him on the front line.

"We were sent to the Russian border, the shelling started there, and thanks to my comrade, I survived. When the shooting started <...>, we were told to surrender, and I immediately surrendered. I thank the Russian soldiers for sparing my life," he shared.

Brodovey also called on his colleagues to surrender to Russian soldiers in order to survive.

The day before, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Nikolai, told Izvestia that his colleagues had escaped, leaving the militant alone in the position. The Ukrainian military clarified that soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation found him when he was in position for about two days. He stressed that the Russian fighters had shown humanity towards him.
