Alexander Ovechkin, a Russian hockey player and captain of the Washington Capitals hockey club, scored a goal in the fourth match of the second round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs against the Carolina Hurricanes on May 12 and surpassed Canadian Mario Lemieux in the list of the best snipers of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Jacob Chikran and Alexander Ovechkin scored for the Moscow team. For the Russian, the puck was the 77th in his career in the NHL playoffs. According to this indicator, Ovechkin took a clean 12th place in goals in the list of the best snipers.

The Hurricanes scored goals from Shane Gostisbeer, Seth Jarvis, Taylor Hall, Sean Walker and Andrey Svechnikov, while Dmitry Orlov scored an assist.

The fifth match will take place on May 16 and will start at 2:00 Moscow time.
