According to the publication, this is how al-Sharaa wants to achieve an easing of US sanctions. The meeting, scheduled on the first day of Trump's visit to the Middle East, could be a lifeline for the country's new regime.

At the same time, it is clarified that the meeting of the leaders is of concern to US allies, such as Israel.

Earlier, on May 7, the media reported on secret talks between Syria and Israel mediated by the UAE.
