The FBI has ordered its agents to pay more attention to migrants

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has instructed its agents that they will have to devote more time to immigration control, reducing the number of investigations related to white-collar crimes. This was reported on Monday, May 12, by the Reuters news agency, citing informed sources.
As indicated in the media, employees will devote about a third of their working time to supporting the administration of US President Donald Trump in the fight against illegal immigration.
"On Monday (May 12th. The FBI has ordered agents to increase the amount of time they devote to immigration surveillance and reduce the investigation of crimes committed by "white collar workers," the publication says.
They clarified that the affairs of knowledge workers will be "not a priority" at least until the end of this year.
The agency stressed that due to increased measures to combat illegal migration, thousands of federal law enforcement officers have been recruited to new jobs as immigration officers. This, in turn, has reduced the effectiveness of combating crime from other areas.
As part of the discussion of the draft state budget for 2026, Trump proposed on May 2 to stop allocating $3.5 billion to programs aimed at resettling migrants. The next day, the American leader noted that if the courts refused to support his policy on deportation, it would be possible to talk about the coming of the end of the whole country.
