The total area of fires in the Amur region amounted to more than 3 thousand hectares in the period from 11 to 12 May. This was announced on May 12 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region, citing the Center for Hydrometeorological Service.
"Over the past day, fire and rescue units of the Amur region went out to extinguish fires of dry vegetation 45 times, the total area was more than 3 thousand hectares," the publication says.
They clarified that as of May 11, the average class of fire danger remains in several municipal districts. The high class was established in 11 municipal districts and four districts.
Since the beginning of the fire-prone period, 577 protocols on administrative offenses against citizens for violating fire safety measures have been drawn up for a total amount of about 1.8 million rubles, the press service added.
Earlier, on May 8, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said that in the coming days, an emergency fifth class of fire danger is expected in the territories of the Central, Southern, Siberian, Far Eastern and Volga Federal Districts of the Russian Federation.
