Russians can receive compensation for hypothermia in the workplace

If an employee catches a cold due to the low temperature in the office, he is entitled to receive compensation from the employer. Dmitry Bondar, an expert on housing and communal services, told about this on Monday, May 12.
According to him, the company can be fined 80 thousand rubles for non-compliance with the temperature regime in office premises.
Bondar clarified that, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, offices should be at least +20...+22 degrees in spring, and at least +23 degrees in summer...+25 degrees.
"If the room is colder, the employer must take measures: install heaters, insulate windows or shorten the working day. When a company does nothing, it is a violation for which it can be fined," the expert said in an interview with Paragraph, adding that the penalty for individual entrepreneurs ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 rubles, for legal entities — from 50,000 to 80,000 rubles.
You can get compensation through the court, proving the connection of the disease with the conditions at work. Bondar advised you to see a doctor and write on your sick leave that you had hypothermia there. For reliability, on the advice of an expert, you can additionally take a photo of the thermometer, which will show the temperature in the room or collect evidence from colleagues.
Additionally, you can write a statement about the investigation of the case on those days when it was cold in the office.
The amount of compensation is determined by the court. It is also possible to reimburse additional expenses related to treatment, for example, expenses for medicines, medical consultations and rehabilitation, if there are supporting documents.
