The UK has opened a case on the death of a worker at a construction site in Vladivostok.

A criminal case has been opened in Vladivostok over the death of a worker who fell from a height of the 19th floor at a construction site. The SU IC of Russia for the Primorsky Territory reported this in its Telegram channel on Monday, May 12.

According to the agency, the tragedy occurred in the first decade of May on the territory of the residential complex under construction on Makovsky Street. The worker fell from the height of the 19th floor and died on the spot from his injuries.

The investigation believes that the incident was caused by violations of safety rules. According to the PrimaMedia news agency, there were no fences at the facility under construction.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during construction work, resulting in the death of a person by negligence"). The investigation is ongoing.

In March, a house painter who was carrying out high-rise work on the construction of the Artemovskaya TPP-2 died in the city of Artyom, Primorsky Krai. The man fell and suffered life-threatening injuries.
