At the moment, all joint activities between Russia and Poland on the border of the Kaliningrad region have been curtailed. This was announced on May 12 by Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergey Andreev.

"Everything is reset, frozen, liquidated. There is no question of any contacts. Unless Poles continue to travel to Kaliningrad," he said on the air of Solovyov Live.

At the same time, the ambassador stressed that the Russian side has not closed itself off from Polish citizens, while Warsaw has been maintaining a ban on Russian citizens entering Poland for cultural, tourist, scientific and entrepreneurial purposes for more than two years.

According to Andreev, the Polish government has taken all possible steps to maximize the difficulty of "normal human communication" between residents of the two countries. In addition, the ambassador noted that the Polish authorities groundlessly accuse the Russian Federation of involvement in sabotage.

Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that relations between Russia and Poland are in a deplorable state, Warsaw chooses hostility and unfriendliness. According to Peskov, the reduction of Russia's diplomatic presence is an indicator that bilateral relations are deteriorating.

On May 12, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced that the country was closing the Russian Consulate General in Krakow. At the same time, he clarified that such a decision was related to alleged acts of sabotage.
