Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov discussed with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to the Russian Federation Tanju Bilgic the interaction of states within the framework of multilateral mechanisms. This was announced on May 12 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Discussions continued on issues of cooperation between Russia and Turkey within the framework of multilateral mechanisms," the statement said.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on aspects of the regional and international agenda. According to the Ministry, the meeting was held in a constructive manner.

The day before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his readiness to contribute to achieving a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, including holding negotiations on his territory. On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan held telephone talks, during which they discussed the resumption of direct talks between Moscow and Kiev.

On April 1, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed with Bilgic the safety of navigation in the Black Sea. It was clarified that special attention in the negotiations was paid to the Ukrainian conflict, the emphasis was placed on finding ways to resolve it and eliminate its causes.
