Despite the significant cold snap in some regions, heating in apartments can be returned only if the average daily temperature is below +8 degrees for five consecutive days. This was stated by State Duma Deputy Alexander Aksenenko on Monday, May 12.

"The central heating system to which the high—rise buildings are connected consists of kilometers of pipelines, multiple heating points and pumping stations. The launch of such a mechanism always takes place gradually. This is not a light switch button — the system must warm up and accelerate," Aksenenko explained in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

According to the parliamentarian, first the highways are filled with heat, then the heating points, then the houses. In large cities, the process of turning on the heating can take up to a week, he noted. Aksyonenko also recalled that the heating in Moscow was not turned off even when temperatures exceeded +25 degrees at the end of April — this was not done until it became obvious that the weather had finally settled down and the air had warmed up.

Earlier in the day, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said that in the coming nights there could be frosts from zero to -5 degrees in the territories of the Siberian, Central, Southern, Ural and Northwestern Federal districts. 360.ru .

On May 6, the deputy mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov, said that heating had begun to turn off in Moscow. According to him, the specialists of the urban economy complex, in connection with the establishment of the necessary air temperatures, began a smooth transition of the capital's heat supply system to summer operation.

Earlier, on April 30, Sergey Kolunov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, said that heating should not be turned off prematurely due to the fact that if it is turned on again due to weather changes, heating supply networks may be strangled, which will lead to utility accidents, RT reports.
