Another criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg over the attack on Alyona Chernysheva, a correspondent of the 78 TV channel in the Nevsky district. This was reported on May 12 in the press service of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city.
According to the investigation, on May 11, in the entrance of a house on Gribakin Street, a girl who was preparing a report on a teenager's injury was attacked by a man who struck her at least two times in the face, causing physical pain and bodily injuries.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists combined with violence against a journalist")," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
On the same day, the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg opened a criminal case after an attack on Alyona Chernysheva, a correspondent of the 78 TV channel, under Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of minor harm to health"). Police officers identified the attacker as a 56-year-old local resident. He was taken to the police station.
A day earlier, it became known about the attack on the correspondent of the 78 TV channel Alyona Chernysheva during her work. An unknown man struck the correspondent when she was talking to the neighbors of an 18-year-old teenager who was injured by a firecracker explosion. It was later reported that the attacker grabbed the journalist by her clothes, tried to push her out of the entrance and punched her in the face.
