The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has sentenced former Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pyotr Vrublevsky to six years in a general regime penal colony. This was reported on May 12 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow.

"By the verdict of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, Peter Yuryevich Vrublevsky was found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and sentenced to imprisonment for a period of six years, with serving his sentence in a correctional colony of general regime," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the term of punishment is calculated from the moment of the convicted person's extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation, or from the moment of his detention on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The court pointed out that Vrublevsky committed acts aimed at inciting hatred and hostility based on nationality, committed in public, including using information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet, with the threat of violence.

Earlier, on April 18, a resident of the Moscow region was sentenced to seven years in prison for publicly calling for terrorist activities. According to the investigation, 50-year-old Melnikov A. posted images and comments on them on a social network that contain signs of justifying terrorism. It is specified that in his publications he also called for the commission of crimes motivated by political hatred or hostility towards law enforcement officers.
